The Philbrook Museum of Art

I’m still in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today I went to see the Philbrook Museum of Art. It is housed in an Italian style villa that was built in the 1920’s for Waite and Genevieve Phillips. The interior of the mansion was designed with 72 rooms. It sits on 25 acres of formal and informal gardens.

I was rather museum-ed out from the past week of museums so I was glad to be able to wander around the gardens.

On the far back of the property the museum has been developing an urban garden. Last year they finished one of the coolest cabins I have ever seen. I can see myself spending all day working in there. I think I’d add a hammock.

Here are some general pictures from inside the museum.
